Description

The Malibu is a volume-shifted board with a tapered shape, this board is made for surfing the snow. It has a larger surface area distributed closer to the center. The pintail makes the board super maneuverable and at the same time stable when charging powder or groomers.

The tapered outline will make you going quick from edge to edge on groomed slopes. The smooth side-cut transition at the nose area will prevent you from catching an edge, even when riding a flat base.

The Malibu is effortless to ride, and has become an instant favorite with our team riders and customers. Legends like Ali Goulet, Kurt Heine, Keith Kimmel, J.F Fortin, Trent Bush and Marc André Tarte use it as their daily driver.

There is no coincidence that the Malibu made it to the “TOP 7 freeride snowboards” list by Whitelines Magazine 2 times in a row.

FAQ

Where can I buy a Moonchild snowboard?

All products can be purchased through our online store. We don't work with distributors, retailers or physical stores for now.

Are Moonchild snowboards only designed for powder?

All our directional models are designed with powder in mind, however we have also designed them to hold a good carve on the groomers. Our Twin models are made for more resort riding....jumps, snowpark, carving, cruzing, jibs.

Where can I demo Moonchild Snowboards?

We don't offer Demo days at the moment, but if you´re living in Washington, Montana or Slovenia there is a chance for you to test some boards. You can get in contact with Jerry Wesley (Mt. Baker, WA), Jake Nelson (White Fish, MT) or Jure Sodja (Slovenia) and they will help you out.

We are working on a Demo tour for the U.S and European resorts for next season.

We recommend you to read all the customers feedback, descriptions and specs on the model you´re interested in before the purchase. You can also contact us and we will help you to find the right product that fits your height, weight and style of riding.

Can I get one of your production models in another length, width, flex or graphics?

Yes, we can build a customized snowboard for you, based on a production model. Check our Custom snowboards page.

This board RIPS!

Finally got to demo this board thanks to Chuck at MVEMT board shop in Montana. Big thanks to him as I wouldn't have bought it without the chance to see how it rides. And holy crap am I SO GLAD that I did. This board is a dream! I kept wondering why the magazine article and others kept referring to it as a fun board....now I see why. It is the most fun I have ever had riding. It excels on groomers, powder, you name it. Always hated the idea of a quiver-killer, but this is the closest thing I've ridden. I don't do much park anymore so YMMV, but if what you are looking for is an all mountain board that slays on groomers, powder, and icy conditions then this is the board for you. The volume shift really is a gamechanger if you're looking to take your riding to the next level.

Pros: fun, super stable at high speeds, freeride, groomers, does Not want to catch an edge, carving, powder days, icy conditions, excels at most resort conditions and runs

Cons: if you are looking for a park or switch board then the directional volume shift probably isn't a good fit. But I haven't tried it personally

Ride the lightning

I bought this board 3 years ago (pre face lift model). This board has completely exceeded my expectations on every front. I just got off a 6 day ski bender in Colorado. I skied 5 different resorts and saw a large variety of conditions. This thing shreds. I absolutely rips the groomers. Edges feel so confident. Slush, pow, anything this will be my board of choice no matter what. I would say this is truly a one quiver snowboard. Cheers moonchild. Thanks for the stoke. ❤️

Thank you for your feedback Liam!!!

Love it.
Absolutely beautiful.
Can’t wait to try it on some powder.
I have the last year 155 model and that was a beast. I don’t doubt this will serve me even better.
Highly recommend The Malibu

I love this board; everyone needs a Malibu in their quiver.

By Sam Baldwin, ex-snowsports writer (The Guardian, The Times, Whitelines, World Snowboard Guide), author of For Fukui's Sake: Two years in Japan, and founder of BregDesign.com.

Ever since I saw Moonchild's mad snowboard shapes, I knew I had to have one. I visited Jure Sodja - Moonchild -founder and Co-owner at his workshop in Slovenia and left with a Malibu. Having been riding it all winter, I can say this is one extremely fun filled, Duck-Billed Plowderpus.

Blunt, short and wide, it's completely different to the twin-tipped capsule-shaped boards I grew up riding. The Malibu's fat nose makes it such a solid, stable plank, but its narrow tail makes it super fast edge-to-edge. It floats in powder, blasts through crud, grips the groomers, skims over slush, plows raw piste, holds tight on hardpack and never loses its nerve on ice.

And it looks pretty sweet too; when someone on a (Jeremy) Jones board compliments your ride in the lift line, you know Moonchild are doing a lot right.
